Jump Start Your Job Search with Summer Networking

Did you just graduate and are looking to get your foot in the door? Are you looking to grow in your current role? A lot of you may not realize it but the job search process begins long before you even think of submitting an application with a company. The best way to get things rolling is simply through networking.

Now, how to get started?? Here are a couple of simple tips on how to begin your networking game plan:

Research any upcoming events in your area involving the industry you are interested in. Some examples could include job fairs, seminars, expos, conferences etc. These are the events that prospective employers and networking contacts will be engaging. Remember, they are attending these events typically for the same reason you are, to connect!
Turn to Social Media! Use your social media platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn to make connections with leaders in the your industry of choice. Search for groups and pages that encompass your interests. This not only will increase the likelihood of increasing your networking pool but it will show passion and drive to any future employer.
Start writing your own blog. This is an excellent way to engage contacts in your industry with topics and storylines that they can relate to. You can write about what is up and coming in the industry or discuss what specifically interests you. Whatever will get you engaged and interacting with like minded individuals will work!

Trillium's 2016 Food Drive Results!

For the last 3 years, Trillium has instituted a program to provide all of the branch offices a way to give back to their local communities. Every March, Trillium offices nationwide have participated in an Annual Food Drive! Through the last few years, it has become obvious that our network of local offices, chambers and clients have had a deep dedication to their local communities.

In 2016, a few of the Trillium branch offices stood out with their giving efforts. Check out what Trillium offices around the country were able to accomplish!

“The Quad Cities Construction and Driver branch offices really blew us away this year!” Stated Jenna Mathieu, Marketing Manager. “Through teamwork and dedication to the local community, both Quad Cities teams were really able to pull out all of the stops!”

Through a combination of efforts from the Quad Cities Construction and Driver branches, they were able to raise a total of $295 in cash donations and 1,033 food items during the month of March! Both offices presented the donations to Jackie Johnson and her daughter from the Community of Christ Church (associated with a food pantry for Churches United).

“Jackie was overwhelmed with emotion for the donation and cried tears of joy and appreciation when we presented the donations here in our office.” Stated Ryan Ahnquist, Branch Manager of Quad Cities Construction. “We were honored to have her and her daughter come to our office and receive the contribution to their mission of helping our less fortunate in our community.”
