Plant Manager

Trillium is looking for a Plant Manager in Libertyville!

This Direct-Hire opportunity is with a custom manufacturer. The qualified candidate will be a hands-on Plant Manager who leads the full operation across production, quality, safety, and maintenance. This is a working role out on the floor, not a manage-from-the-office position.

The ideal candidate brings a track record of running a metric-driven plant: owning a budget and plant P&L, driving Lean and continuous improvement on the floor, building a safety-first culture, and using data to find problems and fix them. If you are a leader who has improved margins, cut scrap and waste, and knows how to get buy-in from your team, this is your kind of plant.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of everything that happens in the plant, from production and quality control to safety and maintenance
- Build and execute the operating plan that grows production while holding quality standards and cost targets
- Direct and motivate the plant team, setting the tone for a positive and productive work environment
- Make sure the plant runs in full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Keep a close eye on the plant’s KPIs and keep senior management informed with clear, regular reporting
- Work hand in hand with supply chain, engineering, and the rest of the business so people and resources are used where they do the most good
- Champion continuous improvement across the plant, finding efficiency, cutting waste, and raising product quality
- Own the numbers: run the plant budget, keep costs in line, and direct procurement

Schedule is 1st shift / Monday - Friday / 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay is $140,000 annually.

- A working command of Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and root cause analysis, and the habit of using them out on the floor
- The ability to run a metric-driven operation, using KPIs and plant data to spot problems early and drive the fix
- Proficiency with manufacturing software and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- A solid grounding in quality systems; time spent under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards is a strong plus
- A background building safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and preventive maintenance schedules
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred
- A proven record as a Plant Manager, or in an equivalent manufacturing leadership role
- Deep familiarity with production processes, quality systems, and safety regulations
- A demonstrated history of managing budgets and keeping costs under control
