CNC Machinist

Trillium Staffing is now seeking a CNC Mazak Lathe Operator & Programmer in Lapeer, MI!

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mazak Lathe Operator & Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC Mazak lathes and machining centers.

This position is responsible for producing high-quality precision-machined metal parts and components while maintaining tight tolerances, meeting production requirements, and following established quality and safety standards.

The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and machining abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
-Program, set up, and operate Mazak CNC lathes and machining centers to manufacture precision metal parts and components.
-Set up, load, adjust, and operate machine tooling to ensure accurate and efficient machining operations.
-Read and interpret CNC programming code to control machine movements and operations.
-Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), dimensions, and technical specifications.
-Determine part dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.
-Establish machine zero and properly locate work coordinates.
-Troubleshoot machining and programming issues and make necessary adjustments to programs, tooling, and machining processes.
-Inspect and verify completed parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
-Maintain consistent production quality while following all safety procedures.
-Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
-Perform other duties as assigned by management or supervision.

Qualifications & Requirements
-Experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, preferably Mazak lathes and machining centers.
-Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and CNC operations.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T.
-Working knowledge of CNC programming codes and machine operations.
-Ability to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machine reference points.
-Experience using precision measuring instruments.
-Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
-Good mathematical skills and attention to detail.
-Regularly lifting and handling parts weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the workday.
-Occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds with team assistance or mechanical lifting equipment.
