Senior Electrical Engineer
Trillium is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, PE in Pittsburgh!
This Direct-Hire opportunity is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer, PE to join a growing engineering team and play a key role in the design and delivery of electrical systems for a wide variety of building and facility projects. Join a well-established engineering organization where you’ll be responsible for developing electrical construction plans and specifications, including lighting, power, and low-voltage systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects from concept through completion while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and company leadership. The ideal candidate will enjoy solving complex technical challenges, leading electrical design efforts, and making a direct impact on project success.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and independent Professional Engineer looking to advance their career within a respected consulting engineering environment. Successful candidates will bring strong expertise in electrical building systems, power distribution, generation systems, and code compliance. The selected engineer must be capable of reading and interpreting electrical drawings, utilizing common engineering design software, performing electrical calculations and studies, preparing specifications, and stamping approved engineering plans. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations and offers strong advancement potential for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
• Develop electrical construction plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects
• Design lighting, power, and low-voltage systems for a variety of building types
• Prepare electrical calculations including load studies, short circuit studies, and breaker coordination analyses
• Design and evaluate prime, standby, and emergency power generation systems
• Review, approve, and stamp engineering plans as the Engineer of Record
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
• Ensure designs comply with NEC requirements and applicable building codes
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and clients to deliver high-quality project outcomes
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams throughout project development
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering staff
• Support project planning, execution, and client relationship management
Schedule is 1st Shift / Monday - Friday / 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. This is a hybrid opportunity / In office 3 days per week. Annual salary is $140,000+ DOE.

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
• 7+ years of post-graduation experience designing building electrical systems
• Experience within a consulting engineering environment strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of NEC requirements and current building codes
• Ability to perform electrical load, short circuit, and breaker coordination studies
• Experience designing lighting, power, and low-voltage systems
• Understanding of prime, standby, and emergency generation systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and construction documents
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with microgrids and prime power generation systems preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills
• Effective leadership and people management abilities
• Interest in sustainable design and green engineering principles
• LEED AP certification is a plus
