Construction Estimator

Trillium Staffing is looking for a Construction Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Wilmington NC

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for our client in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience estimating U.S.-based commercial and/or federal construction projects and experience with takeoffs, subcontractor bidding, scope development, and bid analysis.

Qualifications:
-3+ years of commercial and/or federal construction estimating experience required
-5+ years preferred in commercial, institutional, or military construction
-Associate's degree or equivalent experience
-Experience with RSMeans and/or e4Clicks preferred
-Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and bid requirements
-Experience performing detailed takeoffs
-Strong subcontractor and vendor relationships preferred

Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare accurate estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals
-Develop scopes of work and solicit subcontractor/vendor pricing
-Build and maintain qualified subcontractor bid lists
-Review drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid requirements
-Analyze bids and identify scope gaps, risks, and exclusions
-Develop RFIs and bid clarifications
-Incorporate value-engineering opportunities
-Conduct bid-day analysis and ensure adequate trade coverage
-Follow up on bids and budgets with Architects and Construction Managers
-Assist with project buyout and turnover to the Project Manager
-Review awarded project costs and coordinate subcontractor/vendor awards
-Participate in site visits and pre-bid meetings

-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
-Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
-Proficient with Microsoft Office and construction-related software
-Professional, dependable, and team-oriented

Performance Expectations:
-100% of bids submitted by deadline
-95% of awarded projects turned over within 24 hours
-95% of estimates completed with zero scope gaps

Compensation & Benefits
-$80,000–$100,000 salary
-Hybrid/remote flexibility - ideally 80% In-Office / 20% WFH
