Safety Representative

Trillium Construction is now seeking a Safety Representative in Ravenswood, WV for a 1 year contract!

Pay rate is $40.00/hour. Our client has been providing innovative power and clean-energy solutions throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico since 1987. As a leading independent power producer and service provider, they deliver reliable, low-carbon energy solutions to utilities, corporations, industries, communities, institutions, and investors.

Their projects span the entire energy value chain, including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped-storage hydro, EV charging, microgrids, green hydrogen, and transmission infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced Safety Representative to support a project in Ravenswood, WV. This individual will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, and supporting field personnel in maintaining a safe work environment.

This is a hands-on, field-focused position ideal for a safety professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with construction and project teams.

Key Responsibilities
-Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions.
-Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and project-specific safety requirements.
-Provide safety oversight during construction, installation, and maintenance activities.
-Lead and participate in toolbox talks, pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and safety meetings.
-Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, contractors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns.
-Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage and assist with corrective-action plans.
-Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
-Maintain accurate safety documentation, inspection reports, incident records, and training documentation.
-Conduct employee and contractor safety orientations and training.
-Identify opportunities to improve safety procedures and overall jobsite performance.
-Assist with emergency response planning and participate in emergency drills.
-Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or imminent hazards are identified.

Qualifications
-3+ years of experience in construction, industrial, energy, or power-generation safety.
-OSHA 30 certification required.
-Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
-Experience conducting jobsite inspections, safety audits, incident investigations, and safety training.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
-CHST, CSP, ASP, or other recognized safety certification.
-Experience with renewable energy, power generation, transmission, substations, solar, wind, or other energy infrastructure projects.
-Experience working with construction contractors and subcontractors.
-First Aid/CPR certification.
-Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
