Senior Combustion Technician

Senior Combustion Technician positions available in the Hudson, Wisconsin area working at our client location who is an established industrial machinery manufacturing company.

Direct hire opportunity with a pay rate of $70.00 per hour. This position will report to the Service & Project Manager. The Senior Combustion Technician provides field service, maintenance, troubleshooting, start-up, commissioning, and retrofit support for industrial steam and hot-water systems, including boilers, burners, controls, instrumentation, and energy-recovery equipment. Day shift position with travel required.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Combustion Technician:
-Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
-Install and commission burners, controls, instrumentation, and related equipment.
-Perform system start-up, operational testing, and safety-device verification.
-Conduct combustion analysis and tune systems for safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
-Perform pipefitting and service work on boiler, combustion, and high-pressure steam systems.
-Diagnose and repair boiler, burner, and plant master control systems.
-Calibrate instrumentation using specialized tools and procedures.
-Document work completed and communicate findings and recommendations to customers and project teams.
-Follow all safety procedures and ensure proper use of tools and equipment.

Qualifications & Technical Skills for the Senior Combustion Technician:
-Journeyman Steamfitter/Pipefitter status 
-Journeyman-level gas and oil burner competency required; master-level preferred.
-Autonomous, able to be independent, possess good problem solving skills and able to work alone.
-Journeyman-level steam competency and high-pressure piping experience preferred.
-Power-limited electrical competency preferred.
-Demonstrated field-service experience with industrial boilers, burners, combustion controls, and related systems.
-Familiarity with SCADA, PLC, and BAS systems.
-Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
-Experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, telehandlers, and other job-site equipment.
-Valid driver’s license.
-OSHA 10 certification completed within the past two years.
-Strong commitment to workplace safety.

-Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
-Clear written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
-Collaborative, customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
-Ability to travel for extended periods, including projects and scheduled outages.
-US travel only.
