Cable Assembly Technician
Wire Harness & Cable Assembly Technicians in St. Petersburg!
This Temp-to-Hire opportunity seeks individuals with 3+ years of hands-on wire harness and cable assembly experience to join a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled technicians who thrive in a build-to-print environment and have experience assembling complex cable and harness assemblies to demanding quality standards.
The Wire Harness & Cable Assembly Technician will have proven experience reading engineering drawings, wire lists, schematics, and BOMs while performing precision assembly work that includes crimping, soldering, connector termination, shielding, heat shrink applications, testing, and inspection. Candidates with current IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 certifications, as well as experience in AS9100-certified environments, are highly desired. This position can convert to permanent depending on your performance and attendance.
Responsibilities:
-Assemble wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electromechanical components to engineering specifications and workmanship standards
-Build from engineering drawings, wire lists, schematics, BOMs, travelers, and work instructions
-Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connector termination, pin insertion/extraction, shielding termination, braiding/sleeving, heat shrink applications, lacing, tie-wrapping, and labeling
-Assemble and terminate RF cables and mil-spec connectors
-Conduct continuity testing, electrical testing, and in-process inspections
-Maintain accurate documentation, traceability records, and production documentation
-Ensure compliance with quality, ESD, FOD, and safety requirements
-Support production schedules while maintaining high workmanship standards
Schedule is 1st Shift / Monday - Friday / 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Pay rate is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour DOE.

SKILLS:
-3+ years of wire harness and cable assembly experience
-Experience building to IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 workmanship standards
-Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wire lists, and BOMs
-Proficiency with crimping, soldering, connector termination, and cable assembly techniques
-Experience with RF cables and testing procedures
-Experience with mil-spec connectors including MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-5015, and M39029 contacts
-Experience performing continuity and electrical testing
-Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work under magnification
-Ability to work within documented quality systems and manufacturing procedures
-U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident status required for ITAR-controlled work
Highly Preferred:
-Current IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification
-Current J-STD-001 Certification
-Experience in an AS9100-certified aerospace or defense manufacturing environment
-Experience with military, aerospace, or harsh-environment cable assemblies
-Familiarity with Cirris, DIT-MCO, or similar automated harness testers
-Leadership or mentoring experience
