Construction Estimator

Trillium Construction is now seeking a Construction Estimator for a direct-hire opportunity in Lake Orion, MI!

Annual salary is $95,000–$125,000 per year. The Estimator will have local travel throughout Michigan for onsite meetings.

Our client is a growing construction company specializing in a diverse range of commercial and multifamily construction projects, including multifamily developments, quick-service restaurants, restaurants, hospitals, schools, retail spaces, warehouse/industrial facilities, and medical facilities.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join the team and play a key role in preparing competitive, accurate estimates and supporting projects from preconstruction through award.

What You’ll Do
-Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and multifamily construction projects
-Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project documents
-Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate material, labor, and subcontractor pricing
-Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids
-Utilize BuildingConnected to manage bid invitations, subcontractor outreach, and bid leveling
-Utilize Buildertrend for estimating and construction management activities
-Identify scope gaps, potential risks, and cost-saving opportunities
-Prepare bid proposals and maintain organized estimating documentation
-Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and project teams
-Attend onsite meetings throughout Michigan as needed
-Assist with value engineering and project budgeting
-Work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure estimates align with project requirements and company goals

Qualifications
-3–5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred
-Experience estimating commercial, multifamily, or similar construction projects
-Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and building practices
-Proficiency with BuildingConnected and Buildertrend
-Strong skills in quantity takeoffs, pricing, and bid analysis
-Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
-Strong communication and negotiation abilities
-Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
-Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
-Ability to travel throughout Michigan for onsite meetings
-Must reside in Michigan
