Control Tower & Field Quality Engineer
We are seeking a Control Tower & Field Quality (CTFQ) Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI. CTFQ Engineer is responsible for assisting in the administration and/or coordination of multiple vehicle systems including compiling project status reports, coordinating project schedules, managing project meetings, agendas, minutes and correspondence. The incumbent will report to a team lead or supervisor/manager and should have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for automotive and powertrain development. Pay rate is up to $27.59, depending on experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Facilitating cross functional project meetings
• Compile project status reports, coordinate project schedules, agendas, minutes and correspondence Identify and analyze system requirements, and define project scope, requirements, and deliverables involving multiple stakeholders
• Lead the resolution of warranty related issues - Accountable for problem solving process, proposed solution, validation, and weekly progress
• Lead Triage - warranty claims review, sorting claims and bucketing, review and call vehicles at dealers, support suppliers review at Quality Engineering Center and Manufacturing locations.
• Establish & validate containment & permanent actions at supplier Plants by physically reviewing the product/process changes, internal metrics and control plan update
• Maintain project timelines
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Applied Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering or Electronics Engineering from accredited University
• Experience diagnosing and resolving issues related to Transmission Control Modules (TCM/TCU), Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM), and associated software/calibration functions.
• Experience with warranty claims analysis, including claim triage, sorting, bucketing, trend analysis, and support of root cause investigations
• 1 to 2 years of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
• Knowledge about Transmission and Driveline system and components
• Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project
• Excellent multitasking and task prioritization skills
• Open to new grads as well.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Green Belt / Kepner Tregoe
• Familiar w/ Quality-related metrics
• Project Management
