Diesel Service Writer

Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity in the Caddo Mills area for a Diesel Service Writer. 

You will manage the end-to-end service process for a wide range of medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. Your role requires high autonomy, direct negotiation with fleet managers, and the flexibility to handle multiple truck brands (such as Freightliner, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack and Volvo) simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
-Fleet Management: Act as the primary contact for local businesses and independent operators to minimize their vehicle downtime.
-Multi-Brand Scoping: Translate customer descriptions of diverse engine platforms (Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, CAT) into accurate technician work orders.
-Estimate Creation: Build custom repair estimates, source parts from various local vendors, and secure quick approvals directly from decision-makers.
-Workflow Optimization: Balance the daily shop schedule dynamically, adjusting priorities when emergency roadside or drop-in fleet repairs arrive.
-Billing & Warranty: Manage independent warranty claims, process final invoices, and handle customer payments on-site.

Qualifications & Skills
-Experience: 3 years of service writing experience, specifically within an independent or dealership heavy-duty repair or mixed-fleet environment.
-Technical Adaptability: Strong foundational knowledge of diverse commercial truck makes, models, and general diesel emissions systems.
-Parts Sourcing: Proven ability to navigate aftermarket parts networks and local supplier inventories efficiently to control costs.
-Communication: Exceptional face-to-face and phone communication skills tailored to truck drivers and small business owners.
