Production Supervisor
Our client is seeking a Production Supervisor in Lafayette, IN for direct-hire!
The primary purpose of this role is to serve as the first level of leadership in the workplace, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to frontline employees. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, driving performance to meet customer demand, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and achieving operational goals. The role requires proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and a strong focus on eliminating waste and inefficiencies.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Safety Leadership: Champion and lead safety initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
• Achieving Operational Goals: Meet or exceed production targets and support people initiatives in alignment with unit objectives.
• Performance Monitoring: Track team performance against established goals; implement corrective actions as needed to maintain or improve results.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead the implementation of improvement plans.
• Root Cause Problem Solving: Analyze issues to their root causes and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Effective Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication within the team and across departments to ensure alignment and transparency.
• Labor Relations Management: Address and resolve labor relations and conflict issues within the team in a fair and timely manner.
• Visual Management: Maintain and utilize visual systems to track performance and communicate key metrics within the area of responsibility.
• Team Leadership: Provide clear direction, motivation, and support to team members to foster engagement and accountability.
Shift Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work either day or night shift, depending on operational needs. This department works on a 12-hr continuous shift pattern.

Qualifications
You have (required):
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production environment
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with metals preferred
• Experience working in a union environment preferred
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
