Materials Buyer

Trillium Staffing is now seeking a Materials Buyer in Crawfordsville, IN!

An employee in this position will be responsible for the overall function of the non-ferrous warehouse to include interfacing with customers verbally, grading and buying scrap, and processing and preparing for outbound shipment. The employee will report directly to yard manager. As in all of the positions at the facility, this employee will be responsible for the everyday housekeeping and maintenance of the equipment that is used.

Duties:
1.    Grade and purchase incoming material from peddlers and industrial accounts. 
2.    Process material for shipment. 
3.    Grade and weigh outbound non-ferrous material and maintain inventory of material ready for shipping. 
4.    Unload any transported materials that need to be unloaded at docks.
5.    Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and outside areas adjacent to warehouse to management’s expectations. 
6.    Complete proper paper work regarding the condition and type of material. 
7.    Perform monthly physical inventory of all non-ferrous materials.

Schedule is Monday-Friday with possible Saturdays. 6:30am-3pm. Pay rate is $20/hr.

Qualifications:
1.    Non-Ferrous scrap experience and knowledge of materials. 
2.    Must exhibit skill in dealing with customers. 
3.    Must demonstrate good communications skills, possess the ability to communicate verbally with customers, employees, and supervisors, both in-person and on the phone. 
4.    Forklift experience. 
5.    Prefer a candidate with experience on utilizing a shear, baler, and/or can machines. 
6.    Solid record of attendance.
7.    Ability to lift 50 pounds.
