CNC Machinist

Trillium Construction is currently seeking Machine Operators for a long term full time opportunity in Decatur, AL.  

Pay will vary based on experience, $20-$24 an hour.  Schedule is working 40-60 hours per week.

Job duties:
-Operate CNC burn tables (plasma and oxy-fuel) to cut structural steel and plate material.
-Set up and operate beam line machines for drilling, coping, marking, and cutting structural beams.
-Load and unload steel using overhead cranes and forklifts.
-Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and cut lists.
-Measure and inspect materials using tape measures, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
-Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and routine preventive maintenance.
-Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor mechanical or programming issues.
-Maintain production quality while meeting daily production goals.
-Follow OSHA safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work area.

-Experienced Machine Operator with a strong background operating CNC machinery, burn tables, beam lines, and other automated fabrication equipment in structural steel and metal fabrication environments.
-Skilled at reading blueprints, interpreting shop drawings, and ensuring precise material processing while maintaining production schedules and quality standards.
-Experience working with structural steel, plate, channel, angle, tubing, and wide flange beams.
-All candidates must be able to pass a 9-panel drug screen and background check.  
-OSHA 10 and wear a Type 2 Class C Hard hat.
-Must have gloves, safety glasses, and steel toed boots. 

Preferred Experience:
-CNC Plasma Burn Table
-CNC Oxy-Fuel Burn Table
-Beam Line (Peddinghaus, Ficep, Voortman, or similar)
-Structural steel fabrication
-Overhead crane operation
-Forklift operation
-Blueprint reading
-Quality control inspections
-Manufacturing or fabrication shop experience
