Utility Locator

Trillium Construction is hiring for a Utility Locator in Hampton, GA to accurately locate, market, and document underground utility structures such as manholes and handholes.

This role supports construction, maintenance, and repair activities by providing precise location information to prevent utility damage and ensure project efficiency. 

Hourly rate is $25/hr - $28/hr!

Duties:
• Use specialized locating equipment (e.g., electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar) to identify the position of manholes, handholes, and associated underground utilities. 
• Accurately mark locations on-site according to utility maps, project plans, and safety guidelines. 
• Conduct site inspections and surveys to verify the condition and accessibility of manholes and handholes. 
• Maintain detailed records of location data, site conditions, and any discrepancies or hazards encountered. 
• Collaborate with construction crews, engineers, and project managers to communicate findings and support project planning. 
• Respond promptly to locate requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and service interruptions. 
• Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation related to underground utility infrastructure.

Qualifications:
• Experience with utility locating equipment and technologies. 
• Basic knowledge of underground utility systems, construction practices, and safety standards. 
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and construction drawings. 
• Physical ability to work outdoors, sometimes in challenging weather or terrain conditions. 
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. 
• Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and emergency calls.
