Trillium Professional is now seeking a CNC Training and Safety Specialist for direct-hire in Wheeling, IL!

Schedule is full time on the day shift. Pay is $67,000 to $85,000 annually.

The Training and Safety Specialist II will primarily focus on developing and delivering effective technical training for shop floor personnel and other team members. Additionally, this professional will oversee floor safety initiatives, including routine audits, corrective action implementation, and regulatory safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
-Training Development & Delivery: Create comprehensive training materials (utilizing Word, PowerPoint, and multimedia tools) for Just-In-Time (JIT), annual, and specialized instruction covering work procedures, quality standards, safety protocols, and technical machining skills.
-Strategic Planning: Partner with the HR Manager and Training Manager to establish an annual organizational training calendar. Work closely with supervisors and production managers to identify skill gaps, evaluate employee performance, and build short- and long-term capability strategies.
-Instructional Innovation: Design dynamic, consistent training methodologies and policy frameworks that clarify intent and outcomes. Maintain up-to-date teaching methods through self-assessment, feedback, and continued professional development.
-System Administration: Serve as the local site Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator and internal ambassador.
-Safety & Compliance Oversight: Inspect the manufacturing facility regularly to identify risks; develop and execute routine safety inspection schedules, policies, and emergency procedures.
-Reporting & Documentation: Monitor floor compliance with safety procedures, draft formal inspection reports, and ensure online Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accurately maintained and readily accessible.

Requirements & Skills:
-Industry Experience: 2+ years of experience working within a precision manufacturing machining environment with direct knowledge of manufacturing practices and policies.
-Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience using CNC equipment; familiarity with Swiss Lathes is a strong plus.
-Instructional Background: 2+ years of experience teaching technical competencies to adult learners, with previous exposure to instructional design models (such as ADDIE).
-Safety Compliance: Prior experience managing workplace safety protocols and related regulations. An OSHA 10-Hour certification (or higher) is strongly preferred.
-Software Proficiency: Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and specialized LMS platforms.
-Communication & Core Competencies: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills alongside strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Must demonstrate patience, composure, strong listening skills, and the ability to direct others effectively.
-Education: Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, and/or formal CNC Technical Certifications are considered a plus.
-Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
