Site Safety Representative - Per Diem Offered

Trillium Construction is hiring for a Traveling Site Safety Rep for a 3-month project to help oversee all safety requirements related to the erection of pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) structural steel systems on a data center project in Vernon, TX. 

The hourly rate is between $55/hr - $60/hr, plus $1,000/week in per diem, working 65 - 70 hours/week.

Duties:
-Serve as the primary contact with the GC’s safety department
-Implement and enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and all project-specific safety requirements established by the General Contractor.
-Attend required safety meetings conducted by the General Contractor and communicate all relevant requirements to field personnel.
-Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify potential hazards associated with steel erection activities.
-Participate in pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), -Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and daily crew briefings.
-Monitor and enforce fall protection requirements during steel erection and elevated work activities.
-Verify proper use, inspection, and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
-Monitor crane, rigging, hoisting, and material handling operations to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and project requirements.
-Ensure Aerial and Forklift operations are conducted safely and by trained personnel.
-Maintain required safety documentation, inspection reports, training records, and compliance logs.
-Investigate incidents, near misses, property damage events, and safety violations; prepare reports and corrective action recommendations.
-Coordinate corrective actions for identified deficiencies and verify timely completion.
-Exercise stop-work authority when imminent danger conditions are identified.
-Assist with emergency response activities and ensure emergency procedures are communicated to all employees

Qualifications:
-Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience required, preferably in steel erection, structural steel, or PEMB construction.
-Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards (29 CFR 1926).
-Experience with steel erection, fall protection, aerial and forklifts, rigging and material handling, and crane operations
-OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification
-CHST certification required
-First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
-Ability to read and interpret safety plans, erection drawings, and project specifications.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic safety reporting systems.
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
