Forklift Operator

Trillium Staffing is now seeking a Material Handler / Forklift Operator in Madison Heights, MI! 

Schedule is Monday-Thursday | 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Enjoy a 4-Day Work Week with Fridays Off! Pay: $19.00 - 21.00 per hour (based on experience).

Responsibilities: 
- Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to transport materials throughout the facility.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Supply production areas with raw materials (steel/steel coils) and remove finished goods and scrap materials as needed.
- Move, stage, store, and organize inventory to support efficient production operations.
- Verify inventory accuracy and ensure proper labeling and identification of materials.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and relocating materials within the plant and storage areas.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and support workplace safety initiatives.
- Follow established material handling procedures and quality standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and support team productivity goals.
- Perform additional warehouse and production support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- 2 years of forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment. Will consider those with less experience if skilled at operating.
- Experience operating an overhead crane is preferred but not required. Limited experience accepted. Will train (and you’ll have another skill under your belt!.
- Strong commitment to safety, attendance, and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience handling heavy materials in an industrial setting is a plus.

Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, shipping documents, and production paperwork.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurements.
- Ability to use handheld scanners, labeling equipment, and inventory tracking systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for accessing production and inventory information.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and varying noise levels.
- Steel-toe footwear required to be worn.
