Maintenance Technician

Trillium Staffing is seeking a reliable and experienced Night Shift Utility Operator for a Direct Hire opportunity to support plant operations during the overnight shift.

Schedule is 2-2-3 rotating schedule, 2nd Shift, 2:30 PM – 2:00 AM. Pay rate is $25.00 per hour.

The Night Shift Utility Operator will be responsible for monitoring equipment, completing system walkthroughs, performing inspections, operating plant equipment, and helping ensure the facility continues running safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, manufacturing or production experience, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
The Night Shift Utility Operator will be responsible for:
-Performing system readings and walkthroughs throughout the facility, including the CO2 building, gas skid equipment, and LCO2 areas.
-Completing inspections and adjustments for Stage 1 systems and Decant Stations.
-Accurately completing paperwork related to product loads, equipment readings, safety, security, and shift handoff requirements.
-Operating a variety of vehicles, tools, and equipment, including power tools, trucks, loaders, skid steers, and related plant equipment.
-Operating plant flares and conducting routine system inspections.
-Processing, emptying, and filling manure drop-offs.
-Producing dry ice for scheduled orders and shipments.
-Preparing and returning dry ice totes for new orders.
-Performing general inspection and housekeeping duties in the -Loadout building, Dry Ice building, breakroom, and other assigned areas.
-Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
-Performing all assigned work while following company safety, quality, and workmanship standards.

Qualifications
-High School Diploma or GED required.
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
-Experience working with organic waste material is preferred.
-Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software systems.
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
-Must be able to work a 2-2-3 schedule and rotating weekends.
-Overtime may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and limited supervision.
-Knowledge and proficient use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and testing instruments.
-Ability to operate equipment such as a spotter truck, pallet jack, forklift, skid steer, Manitou, air compressors, tractors, and similar equipment.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to read and follow procedures, instructions, safety requirements, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
-Solid understanding of chemicals, chemical interactions, and safe handling practices.
-Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Physical Requirements
-Ability to work around and on industrial equipment.
-Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, kneeling, crawling, and grasping.
-Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
-Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
-Ability to complete data entry and take samples for more than one hour at a time.
-Ability to work in confined spaces.
-Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
-Ability to open valves and torque bolts up to 1.5 inches and 200 lbs.
-Must be able to distinguish between different colors.
-Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.

Work Environment
-Exposure to indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
-Exposure to loud noises and odorous materials.
-Exposure to hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
-May involve confined space work.
-Work may be performed in non-temperature-controlled environments.
-Exposure to dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances.
