Plating Engineer

Trillium is now hiring for Plating Engineer for direct-hire in Glastonbury, CT!

Annual salary is $65,000 – $98,000 + Benefits.

Join a growing manufacturing team where you’ll take ownership of electroplating processes, drive quality improvements, and solve real production challenges. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting and making immediate impact.

Responsibilities
-Optimize electroplating processes (nickel, chrome, zinc, gold, anodizing) for quality and efficiency
-Troubleshoot defects (pitting, burning, adhesion, thickness issues) and implement solutions
-Monitor and adjust bath chemistry to maintain consistent production performance

What You’ll Do
-Improve processes, reduce defects, and support production goals
-Partner with quality and operations teams
-Support new product launches and validate processes
-Ensure safety and environmental compliance

Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
-3+ years of electroplating or surface finishing experience
-Strong understanding of plating chemistry and electrochemical processes

Nice to Have
-Experience with automated/PLC plating lines
-Lean or Six Sigma experience
-Knowledge of ASTM/ISO standards and testing methods (XRF, titration, Hull cell)
