CNC Machinist

Trillium Staffing is now seeking CNC Setup Operators (Level III) in Eldridge, IA!

Pay rate is $25.00+/hr (Plus shift differential, DOE). 

The CNC Operator Level III is responsible for performing advanced setup operations, adjusting programming, and operating CNC Mill and Lathe tools. This role involves executing a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified product line to close tolerances and exacting finish specifications.

This position reports directly to the assigned Production Shift Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities
-Setup & Operation: Perform full equipment and fixture setups for machining centers; operate multiple units simultaneously.
-Technical Support: Diagnose mechanical or programming problems and make necessary adjustments; manually program short runs or special jobs.
-Quality & Safety: Maintain strict quality and safety standards; document actions, irregularities, and production needs in quality logs.
-Maintenance: Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform routine maintenance/repairs following manufacturer instructions.
-Leadership: Instruct other operators on procedures and methods; conduct periodic checks to ensure proper machining operations.
-Organization: Maintain a clean workstation utilizing 5S methodology and complete all daily/weekly cleaning schedules.

Job Requirements
-Education: * Required: High School Diploma/GED or vocational school equivalent.
-Preferred: Trade Certification.

Experience:
-5+ years of machining experience preferred, ideally with formal trade school training.
-Proven experience with CNC Mill and Lathe techniques, tool operating procedures, and advanced blueprint reading.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
-Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with Mazak, Mori Seiki, Brother, Okuma, Tsugami, G-codes, and M-codes.
-Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, height stands).
-Ability to work from programming instructions, operations data, and setup sheets defining tool arrangements.
-Experience maintaining tolerances of +/-.003 and performing self-inspections for conformance.
-Familiarity with machine calibrations and console settings for complex operations including profiling, boring, contour milling, turning, and threading.
-Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently.
