A family orientated metals manufacturing company in Troy, MI is seeking a 1st Shift Stamping Operator (Progressive Dies) to join their operation! 

Steady work, supportive team environment, and a company that values its people! Contract to Hire. Pay: $18-19/ hour (based on experience). Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:30 AM-4:00 PM (Fridays OFF!).    

Objective: Responsible for performing a series of interrelated tasks including part handling, coil setup, press operation, and quality inspection to produce finished stamped steel components from coil material.

Key Duties:
- Report to work on time and maintain satisfactory attendance and performance standards
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times
- Operate stamping presses and related departmental equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- Operate large metal forming presses and auxiliary coil handling equipment
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or misaligned parts
- Load and unload parts and place into designated containers per work instructions
- Perform and document quality checks and production activity accurately
- Label parts according to job and customer specifications
- Complete basic data entry and inventory transactions using computer systems
- Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Participate in 5S workplace organization activities

Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent

Skills:
- Ability to read, speak, and understand English
- Basic knowledge of metal stamping and forming equipment, including heavy-duty presses
- Basic math skills (fractions and decimals)
- Ability to follow instructions and apply common sense judgment
- Problem-solving ability
- Basic computer skills including data entry and Microsoft Excel

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for full shift
- Frequent bending, lifting, and movement
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and moderate to high noise levels
