Quality Engineer
We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support precision CNC machining operations in Bluffton, IN! This is a direct-hire role! Full on-site role.
The quality engineer role is ideal for someone who thrives on the shop floor, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering high-quality, complex metal components across demanding industries. Seeking a quality engineer who has knowledge of quality management systems, can assist systems, help with audits, first article, first piece inspections, able to use micrometers, calipers. CMMs. Knowledge of PPAP systems, control plans, FMEAS.
What You’ll Do
-Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to support production
-Program and operate Mitutoyo CMM for inspection and validation
-Partner with engineering and production to troubleshoot quality issues
-Monitor scrap and rework; drive continuous improvement efforts
-Interpret blueprints and GD&T to ensure product conformance
-Conduct gage R&R and process capability studies
-Manage gage calibration systems and perform routine calibrations
-Create inspection plans and documentation for new and existing parts
-Support audits, roving inspections, and dock checks
-Maintain quality documentation aligned with QMS/IATF standards
-Compile and analyze data (capability studies, histograms, etc.)

What You Bring
-Experience in manufacturing quality within a CNC environment
-Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge
-Hands-on experience with CMM programming and inspection tools
-Familiarity with SPC, ERP systems, and calibration processes
-Working knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO standards
-Solid mechanical aptitude and comfort with precision measurement tools
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office
