CNC Machinist
Trillium Staffing is now seeking a CNC Machinist (15+ Years Experience) for direct-hire in Hudson, Ohio!
1st shift 7am-3:30pm
2nd shift 3pm-11:30pm
Our Customer is evolving into a premier engineered solutions provider, and they are looking for a highly skilled CNC Machinist to play a key role in that growth. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and optimizing multi-axis CNC mills and lathes to produce high-precision components.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in complex machining, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to independently troubleshoot and improve production processes.
Key Responsibilities
-Set up, operate, and adjust multi-axis CNC mills and lathes for complex, tight-tolerance parts
-Work with equipment such as Okuma, Samsung, Bridgeport, Hardinge, Hydromat, Sinico, and FANUC-controlled machines
-Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and engineering drawings
-Program and modify CNC operations, including tool paths, offsets, and compensation
-Perform tool presetting (Zoller or similar) and maintain precise tool offsets
-Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators, and CMM equipment
-Troubleshoot machining and production issues; optimize processes to reduce downtime and scrap
-Maintain clear documentation for shift-to-shift communication
-Collaborate with engineering and production teams on process improvements and new product launches
-Follow all safety, quality, and operational standards
What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)
-Take full ownership of setups and production for assigned parts
-Reduce scrap and improve machine uptime
-Demonstrate advanced multi-axis programming and tooling expertise
-Implement at least two measurable process improvements
-Become a go-to technical resource for machinists and cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications
-15+ years of CNC machining experience, including 3–5 axis operations
-Proficiency with CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or similar)
-Strong expertise in tooling, workholding, and fixturing
-Advanced knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement tools
-Experience with CMM, optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
-Ability to troubleshoot machining issues such as tolerance variation, chatter, tool deflection, and burrs
-Experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and exotic alloys
-Proven ability to improve processes and minimize downtime
Preferred Qualifications
-Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
-Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks
