Crane Operator
A fast-paced, safety-focused metals manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Crane Operator to join its 2nd shift team in Montgomery, IL.
This is a hands-on, industrial role supporting production, material handling, and shipment preparation in a high-volume environment.
Schedule is 2nd Shift, 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Must be flexible and available for overtime based on production needs. Pay rate is $21.55/hour with a shift differential of $1.00/hour for 2nd shift (included in the rate).
In this role, the Crane Operator will be responsible for staging materials for production, inspecting finished goods, and preparing customer orders for shipment. The ideal candidate has prior experience operating overhead cranes and material-handling equipment in a metals or industrial environment and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
-Operate overhead cranes (20–25 ton) to move steel and other metal materials
-Package, band, and label materials according to customer and work order specifications
-Stage finished products for outbound shipment
-Operate forklifts or side loaders to transport materials within the facility
-Verify work orders and job completion using warehouse management systems
-Follow production schedules and all safety guidelines to ensure on-time order fulfillment
-Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
-Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs

Required Qualifications
-Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating 20–25 ton overhead cranes (required)
-At least 2 years of experience operating industrial or manufacturing machinery
-Minimum 1 year of experience in metals, aluminum, and/or polishing environments or strong crane experience from another industry
-Strong ability to read and accurately use a measuring tape (critical skill)
-Working knowledge of fractions and decimals
-Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers
-Physically capable of lifting, carrying, and pushing 50–70 lbs
-Comfortable using pneumatic tools and working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
-Must wear metatarsal (met) boots
Preferred Qualifications
-Knowledge of structural steel
-Forklift or side loader experience
