Yard Driver

Trillium Drivers is looking for CDL Yard Jockeys in the Ft. Pierce, FL area!

Drivers are responsible for moving loaded and unloaded trailers around the Reverse Logistic Center, as needed. You will be responsible for making decisions regarding the movement of trailers to maximize the efficiency of the operation. Schedule is Saturday through Monday 5A-5P or 5P-5A. Pay rate is $20/hour!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Operate an automatic Yard Truck with the ability to maneuver 53’ long trailers into tight spaces without causing damage.
-Perform daily equipment checks such as checking fluid levels, cleaning air filters, and examining equipment for damage or leaks.
-Checking loads to ensure they are secure.
-Must be able to utilize yard management system.
-When applicable, must operate a forklift to move pallets or materials on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.
-When applicable, must stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions.
-When applicable, must examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.

Experience and Qualifications:
-Good math, language and reading skills with attention to detail along with basic computer skills.
-High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment.
-Prior experience driving a yard truck or semi is a plus, not required.
-Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
-Understanding that overtime may be required and is considered mandatory.
-Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate.
-Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to be worn (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes).
-May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.
