Field Service Technician

Experienced Field Service Technician wanted in Richmond, VA to support a leading manufacturer of aerial lift and hydraulic equipment - great pay, company truck, and a fantastic long-term opportunity!

- Growing manufacturer of vehicle-mounted aerial lift equipment and specialty utility vehicles used to perform work safely at height.
- Their equipment is commonly found on bucket trucks, digger derricks, bridge inspection units, and other hydraulic lifting platforms.

Our client is seeking experienced Field Service Technicians to support and maintain their fleet of vehicle-mounted aerial lift and hydraulic equipment in the field.

This role is ideal for technicians with experience working on hydraulic systems, heavy equipment, bucket trucks, or utility vehicles who enjoy working independently while supporting customers across their service territory.

Technicians will diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems while ensuring equipment remains safe, operational, and compliant with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Repair & Maintain Aerial Lift Equipment: Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used on aerial lift and utility equipment.
- Respond to Field Service Calls: Independently manage on-site service visits at customer locations within your assigned territory.
- Ensure Equipment Safety & Reliability: Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to maintain equipment performance and meet applicable safety standards.
- Customer Support: Communicate clearly with customers regarding issues, repairs, and maintenance recommendations while ensuring a positive service experience.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of service work performed, parts used, and customer interactions.

Territory Information
- Technicians are dispatched directly from home.
- Travel within the assigned service territory may be up to 250 miles.
- Overnight travel is not required.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification (ASE, EVT, hydraulic systems, or related training) is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience working with: Aerial lifts, bucket trucks, hydraulic systems, heavy equipment, utility or construction equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues independently in the field.
- Comfortable working independently and managing service schedules.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel within the designated service area.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
