Structural Engineer

Trillium Construction is hiring for a Structural Engineer in San Antonio, FL for a full-time, direct-hire position with a local company that specializes in retaining walls, hardscapes, and geotechnical projects throughout the region. 

This role will focus on the analysis, design, and review of retaining wall systems and related geotechnical structures supporting residential, commercial, and infrastructure project.

Duties:
-Perform geotechnical and structural design of retaining wall system
-Conduct slope stability and earth pressure analyses.
-Review geotechnical reports and incorporate soil parameters into structural designs.
-Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and design documentation.
-Develop construction drawings and specifications for retaining wall systems.
-Coordinate with geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, architects, and contractors.
-Perform site evaluations and field inspections to verify design assumptions and construction compliance.
-Review shop drawings and respond to contractor RFIs.
-Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and standards.
-Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design staff when applicable.

Compensation:
-Annual salary up to $150,000, depending on experience
-M/V/D benefits
-Mileage reimbursement, when applicable

Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience in geotechnical or structural engineering with emphasis on retaining walls
-Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida
-Experience with Florida projects and local geotechnical conditions
-Knowledge of FDOT, AASHTO, and IBC design standards
-Experience working with segmental retaining wall manufacturers and systems
-Familiarity with slope stabilization and foundation design
-Strong understanding of: soil mechanics, earth pressures, global and internal stability, drainage design for retaining structures
-Experience with retaining wall design software (e.g., ReSSA, WALLAP, DeepEX, GeoStudio, or similar)
-Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
-Ability to prepare and review engineering calculations and construction plans
-Strong technical writing and communication skill
