Civil Superintendent

Trillium Construction is now seeking a Building General Superintendent – Civil/Transit Projects in Midtown Manhattan, NY!

Salary Range: $300,000 – $350,000 DOE. Eligibility: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

The Building General Superintendent will oversee all on-site construction activities for major civil and transit projects. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on time, and in compliance with design specifications, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Field Supervision
-Oversee all on-site construction activities.
-Direct and supervise subcontractors, site supervisors, and trade crews.
-Ensure construction proceeds according to schedule and plans.

Project Coordination
-Collaborate with Project Manager, architects, engineers, and local authorities.
-Review construction drawings and specifications to identify potential issues.
-Schedule and attend regular coordination meetings.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
-Enforce safety protocols and ensure OSHA and local regulation compliance.
-Conduct toolbox talks and site safety inspections.
-Implement safety incident reporting procedures.

Quality Assurance
-Inspect work to ensure compliance with contract documents and standards.
-Coordinate quality inspections and testing.
-Manage punch lists and corrective actions.

Scheduling & Planning
-Monitor construction schedule daily.
-Identify potential delays and recommend recovery plans.
-Work closely with schedulers to adjust timelines and resources.

Resource Management
-Oversee delivery and utilization of equipment and materials.
-Ensure labor and materials are available per schedule.
-Coordinate logistics for timely deliveries.

Documentation & Reporting
-Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and photo documentation.
-Report field progress and issues to the Project Manager.
-Track labor hours and equipment use.

Stakeholder Communication
-Interface with local agencies, transit authorities, and inspectors.
-Address concerns from stakeholders, including community outreach as needed.

Bus Terminal / Transit-Specific Focus Areas
-Coordinate utility relocations and underground infrastructure.
-Oversee integration of specialized transit systems (bus bays, canopies, fare systems).
-Maintain traffic and pedestrian safety during construction.
-Manage staging and sequencing in operational transit environments.
-Ensure environmental compliance (stormwater management, noise control).
