Machine Operator

A custom metal fabrication and engineered container manufacturing company located in Waxahachie, TX is seeking a skilled Laser Operator for their 2nd shift!

Pay: $23-$27/hour depending on experience and skill level

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday through Thursday, 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM
- Will train on 1st shift, 6:00-4:30pm, for 2-4 weeks. Candidate must be comfortable with this schedule temporarily.
- Overtime may be required on Fridays and Saturdays based on production needs.
- Candidates must be available to work overtime when scheduled.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently set up, operate, and monitor the Salvagnini automated manufacturing system, including the L5 Fiber Laser, P4 Panel Bender, and Store Tower.
- Load and run machine programs, making adjustments when necessary while understanding laser cutting parameters, bending sequences, and automated workflow processes.
- Monitor laser cutting and automated panel bending operations to ensure productivity and product quality.
- Manage automated material handling using the Store Tower system, including storage, retrieval, and inventory tracking.
- Interpret blueprints, job travelers, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, and tape measures.
- Conduct routine machine checks, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and document completed work orders.
- Follow all workplace safety policies and established manufacturing procedures.
- Coordinate with day shift personnel to ensure smooth job handoffs and continuous workflow.
- Verify finished parts meet dimensional and quality standards prior to completion.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and address production challenges as they arise.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience operating Salvagnini equipment, including the L5 Fiber Laser, P4 Panel Bender, and Store Tower system (strongly preferred).
- Solid understanding of automated sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Experience with Salvagnini software and CAD/CAM integration.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and tolerance specifications.
- Experience using inspection tools such as calipers, tape measures, and pin gauges.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing preferred.
