Millwrights and Machine Builders need for industrial equipment manufacturer in Houston, Texas! Competitive pay, growth opportunity, incredible benefits!!
Schedule is 1st Shift - 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (M-F). Overtime on Saturdays may be required based on production needs, not to exceed 10 hours/day. Pay rate is $26 - $30/hour depending on experience and skills.
We are seeking skilled Millwrights and Machine Builders to join our client’s expanding team. This role is responsible for the assembly, alignment, and verification of heavy industrial equipment components.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble components and subassemblies including gearboxes, electric hoisting motors, wire rope, drum assemblies, and central lubrication systems (experience installing stainless steel tubing a plus).
- Bolt up mechanical and structural subassemblies using the correct hardware per pre-engineered drawings.
- Perform complex machine alignments using dial indicators, reverse indication alignment procedures, and shimming techniques. Previous millwright experience is a plus.
- Verify bolt tightness and torque using standard and hydraulic torquing tools.
- Rig and lift machine components using chain and web slings.
- Safely operate forklifts to move heavy components within the production area (forklift experience preferred).
- High school diploma or trade school preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 5 years of Millwright or Machine Builder experience.
- Ability to read and interpret pre-engineered drawings.
- Proficiency in overhead crane operation.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must wear steel-toe boots, locking toolbox, and basic hand tools.
- Precision Alignment: Skilled at aligning heavy mechanical assemblies including gearboxes, drive shafts, trolley systems, and other components using dial indicators, laser tools, and shimming techniques.
- Tolerance Testing: Experienced in measuring and verifying mechanical components with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges to meet engineering tolerances.
- Overhead Crane / Heavy Equipment: Hands-on experience assembling and installing heavy industrial equipment or crane systems, including bridge structures, hoists, and drive assemblies while following safety and quality protocols.
