Shift Team Leader

Growing metals manufacturer in the Cincinnati area is seeking an energetic and motivated Shift Team Leader to support their 2nd shift operations!!

Pay rate is - $28.68 per hour plus a $1 shift premium for off-shift hours. Schedule is 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM. Overtime is expected as needed, after scheduled shift hours. Candidates must be comfortable working overtime when required.

Training and Development:
- New hires will complete a 2-4 week training period. 
- Training may occur on 1st shift depending on operational needs. Candidates should have flexibility to support this.
- Upon hire, employees may be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship or skills development program designed to support long-term career growth, certifications, and technical advancement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate motorized material handling equipment including overhead cranes, side loaders, and forklifts.
- Assist with staging, packing, picking, and preparing material for shipment in a fast-paced warehouse and metals processing environment. 
- Provide leadership support by stepping in when the team is short-handed or during high-demand periods. 
- Train, coach, mentor, and develop team members to ensure tasks are performed safely and correctly. 
- Lead pre-shift safety and production meetings and reinforce workplace safety practices. 
- Help identify workplace hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken. 
- Support equipment troubleshooting and coordinate repair activities when needed.
- May assume short-term supervisory responsibility during management absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in metals manufacturing or warehouse operations. 
- Min.1 year METAL EXPERIENCE. This includes working with metal materials (min. one year) in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or distribution/warehouse (cutting, shaping, processing, or handling metals like steel or aluminum).
- Experience operating material handling equipment and ability to identify and handle materials within a service center environment. 
- Demonstrated leadership ability and interest in career advancement. 
Willingness to learn and become proficient with SAP or similar systems (prior experience not required). 
- Basic computer and math skills. 
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
