Lead Safety Excellence in Lithia Springs, GA, Safety Manager Opportunity focusing on Industrial and Civil Projects!

Pay rate is $30-36/hour (based on experience and skill set). Schedule is 1st Shift - Start time: 6:00am, at least 45 hours/ week, up to 50-55/ hours per week based on workload. Candidates must be able to work OT as projects ramp up.

The Safety Manager provides safety leadership and technical support to operations and project teams to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment. This role is responsible for developing and implementing accident prevention programs, advising leadership on regulatory requirements, conducting jobsite audits, leading training initiatives, and supporting incident investigations.

The Safety Manager partners closely with Operations, Project Managers, field leadership, and Senior Safety Leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership & Program Management
- Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and policies
- Conduct and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for all scopes of work
- Lead daily safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Perform routine site safety inspections and audits
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions immediately
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and documentation
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and injuries; complete reports and root cause analysis
- Maintain safety records, permits, and training documentation
- Coordinate safety training and certifications (fall protection, confined space, etc.)
- Oversee PPE compliance and site housekeeping standards
- Participate in pre-construction and planning meetings to address safety risks
- Track and report safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss trends)
- Ensure proper emergency response procedures are in place and practiced
- Conduct new hire safety orientations

Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with Company, customer, site, OSHA, and applicable regulatory standards
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations
- Verify, maintain, and audit required safety documentation
- Utilize company safety systems/software to manage inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and training records
- Maintain required safety certifications and documentation

Jobsite Audits, Hazard Prevention & Field Support
- Conduct regular jobsite audits, inspections, and work area assessments
- Identify hazards and unsafe behaviors; implement corrective measures
- Review and support development of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
- Assist Crew Foremen and General Foremen with safety planning
- Develop project-specific corrective action plans in collaboration with field leadership
- Monitor subcontractor activities for compliance with company, customer, and general contractor safety requirements

Training & Safety Culture Development
- Develop and facilitate safety training programs
- Lead new hire and site-specific safety orientations
- Conduct toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings
- Coordinate, track, and document required safety training
- Develop safety competencies and identify areas for improvement
- Coach and mentor employees demonstrating unsafe behaviors; recognize safe work practices
- Communicate effectively with all levels of field employees and management

Incident Management & Investigations
- Respond to reports of incidents and safety concerns
- Lead, conduct, and support incident investigations
- Facilitate injury and illness case management
- Communicate investigation findings to Senior Leadership
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked

Required / Preferred Education & Certifications
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- OSHA 30-Hour certification (required)
- OSHA 510 certification (preferred)
- First Aid / CPR certification
- CHST credential (preferred)

Experience
- 1+ years of recent experience in construction safety or related field
- Prior experience in an electrical field preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes and safety regulations

Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable regulatory requirements
- Proficient computer skills and experience with safety management software
