Senior Accountant

Trillium is seeking a Senior Accountant in Houston!

Trillium is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for a multi-subsidiary environment within an oil field culture that values hard work and team collaboration!

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in helping the organization make critical financial decisions by accurately verifying and recording transactions, as well as analyzing and reconciling complex datasets.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment—comfortable processing a high volume of transactions across several companies. While the workplace is casual in dress code and culture, it’s driven by a strong work ethic and a commitment to precision, accountability, and results.

Responsibilities:
-Accounting Operations: Process high-volume transactions across multiple subsidiaries, including general ledger, payroll, banking, fixed assets, loans, and more, while ensuring data accuracy through detailed entry, validation, and reconciliation.
-Month-End and Year-End Closings: Perform reconciliations, allocations, and journal entries to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
-Financial and Variance Analysis: Conduct variance and trend analysis, summarize insights for management, and clearly communicate complex financial data to support decision-making.
-Fixed Assets and Leases: Manage capitalizations, disposals, depreciation runs, and transfers, as well as maintain equipment and property lease records within the CrunchAFI system.
-Collaboration and Reporting: Partner with operations, AP, AR, and executive teams to gather, analyze, and report financial data that supports strategic business goals.
-Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow, including participation in projects like the new inventory system rollout.
-Advanced Tools and Problem Solving: Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP) to analyze large datasets, prepare journal entry templates, and resolve complex discrepancies to ensure financial integrity.

Schedule is 1st Shift / Monday – Thursday / 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible start time). Fridays are remote working days. Annual salary is $80,000 – $95,000 DOE. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and retirement options.

-Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting with strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
-Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, etc.) and proficient in working with large data sets.
-Well versed in accounting software; Oracle/NetSuite experience preferred.
-Adaptable to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment and able to manage multiple tasks independently and excel in problem resolutions.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
-Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
-Interest in contributing to system development projects, including building a new inventory system from the ground up.
