Research & Development Technician
Trillium is seeking a talented R&D Technician for an exciting direct-hire opportunity in Wilmington!
Join our innovative Engineering Department to develop and test specialized, precision-built equipment manufactured entirely on-site.
Primary responsibilities include partnering with New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering teams on electro-mechanical testing, verification/validation, and professional reporting. As the R&D Technician, you’ll work closely with project teams to create durable products through rigorous testing—all while operating independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
-Execute V&V testing (physical, electrical, functional) and maintain a safe, organized lab.
-Develop test plans, analyze complex data, and produce compliant reports.
-Troubleshoot/repair equipment, design fixtures, and innovate test methods for prototypes and products.
-Coordinate with contract labs and cross-functional teams to meet standards/certifications.
-Interpret drawings/standards and communicate results effectively.
-Work in a dynamic shop environment with PPE; handle manual tasks (lift 50-100 lbs).
Schedule is 1st Shift: 6AM–2:30PM, Mon–Fri. Annual salary is $60K–$90K DOE plus a 10% incentive.

-Proficient in MS Office, CAD (mechanical/electrical); -SolidWorks/Altium a plus.
-Hands-on with electro-mechanical systems, PLCs, tools, machining.
-Mechatronics lab/machining experience highly desirable.
-Shop/lab comfort with proven testing success.
-Understanding of assemblies, controls, instrumentation, safety-critical equipment.
-Analyze engineering drawings, journals, regulations; write documentation and present effectively.
-Apply geometry, trig, stats to practical problems.
-Solve issues with limited standardization; interpret diverse instructions.
-QMS and OSHA training provided.
-Associate’s in Mechanical Engineering Tech, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
-2+ years experience (or combination considered).
