Harness Electrical Engineer

Trillium Professional has a long term opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for a Harness Electrical Engineer. 

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role: 
-Designing electrical wiring harnesses to include component selection for connectors, backshells, sleeving, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.
-Determining harness layout through vehicle and branch points for multi-branch harnesses
-Designing to environmental requirements for temperature, shock, vibration, submergence and exposure to harsh chemicals
-Designing harnesses in Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, working specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology

Secondary Tasks: 
-Working with CAD draftsman to route harnesses in 3D CAD tools (Pro-E and/or NX)
-Working with CAD draftsman to develop released drawings for harnesses, electrical installations, wiring diagrams, etc.
-Working with systems engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnect
-Working with physical architects to define harness routing channels, space claims
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Sought: 
-Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
-Experience with Harness Design highly desired
-Ability to balance cost/schedule/technical priorities.
-Occasional overtime and weekend hours may be required to complete critical tasks.
-Experience with Microsoft Visio desirable.
-Experience with Capital Harness System (CHS) (aka Mentor Graphics) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic and Capital Topology is desirable.
-Experience with Pro-E Creo desirable.
-Experience with NX desirable.
-Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
-Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
-Strong multi-tasking skills.
-Strong record keeping skills.
