Civil Superintendent
Trillium Construction is now hiring in Ravenswood, WV!
We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for civil construction work, including earthwork, utilities, grading, concrete, and site development. This role ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedule requirements. The Civil Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
-Coordinate and supervise daily field activities, ensuring efficient execution of civil construction tasks.
-Interpret drawings, specifications, and project plans to guide crews and subcontractors.
-Develop short-term schedules and coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment to meet deadlines.
-Maintain strict adherence to safety policies and procedures; partner closely with the Safety Manager.
-Conduct daily site meetings, toolbox talks, and workflow planning.
-Oversee installation of utilities, grading, earthwork, concrete, stormwater systems, and other civil scopes.
-Maintain quality control by ensuring all work meets contract specifications and industry standards.
-Collaborate with Project Manager to track progress, resolve issues, and support cost control and forecasting.
-Communicate with inspectors, engineers, and owner representatives as required.
-Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
-Troubleshoot field challenges and provide proactive solutions to keep the project moving forward.
-Document daily activities, manpower, quantities, delays, and equipment usage.

Qualifications
-5+ years of experience as a Civil Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
-Strong knowledge of civil construction practices including grading, utilities, concrete, and site development.
-Ability to read and interpret construction plans, civil drawings, and specifications.
-Proven leadership and team management skills.
-Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
-Proficient with project management tools, daily reporting software, and scheduling basics.
-OSHA 30 certification preferred.
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate uneven terrain.
