Senior Project Manager
Trillium Construction is now seeking a Senior Project Manager – Solar & Energy Storage (Midwest)!
Base Salary: $130,000–$160,000 + Annual Bonus + Full Benefits.
Trillium Construction is now hiring a Senior Project Manager to support large-scale solar and energy storage projects across the Midwest. This is a direct-hire leadership role with a well-capitalized, growth-oriented renewable energy organization delivering high-impact utility-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities
-Lead all phases of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects, from preconstruction planning through commissioning and warranty closeout
-Direct permitting and utility interconnection activities, ensuring all approvals are secured prior to construction
-Manage and mentor multi-disciplinary teams including Construction Managers, Electrical Managers, Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors
-Oversee subcontractor bid packages, contract negotiations, and procurement strategies
-Coordinate with procurement and warehousing teams to ensure timely delivery of all major equipment and materials
-Develop and manage project schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, productivity targets, and monthly labor budgets
-Monitor project execution, track performance, and update forecasts to ensure schedule and cost adherence
-Enforce company safety standards and ensure implementation of site-specific safety plans and training
-Partner with accounting to manage billing schedules, cash flow forecasting, collections, and financial reporting
-Maintain accurate and compliant project documentation (RFIs, submittals, inspections, change events, photos, delays, and safety records)
-Identify, negotiate, and manage change orders; communicate impacts to internal stakeholders and accounting
-Provide consistent project reporting including cost forecasting, schedule updates, risk assessments, and executive summaries
-Serve as the primary client point of contact; lead meetings and manage overall client relationships
-Train, mentor, and develop project team members, supporting long-term talent growth
-Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues as needed
-Resolve conflicts, disputes, or claims throughout the project lifecycle
-Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and execution consistency

Required Qualifications
-Active PMP Certification (REQUIRED)
-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
-7+ years of construction management experience, including at least -3 years on utility-scale solar and/or energy storage projects
-Strong command of project scheduling, risk management, procurement, estimating, cost controls, and financial forecasting
-Working knowledge of contract administration, compliance requirements, and project accounting
-Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders
-Proficiency with MS Office and construction management software such as Procore
-Experience developing and managing complex, multi-phase project schedules
-Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to project sites, including multi-day visits
-Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred (Not Required)
-Master’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Management
-Previous hands-on construction field experience
