Rigger - Per Diem Offered

Trillium Construction is seeking Advanced (NCCER or NCCCO) Riggers for a project in Sterling, VA. 

This role supports MEB (Modular Electrical Building) construction, equipment setting, and heavy lift operations in an industrial environment.

Must demonstrate advanced proficiency in bull rigging, load control, and complex lift execution, working closely with crane operators, lift directors, and field crews to ensure safe and precise operations.

Key Responsibilities
•    Execute complex rigging plans for modules, generators, transformers, piping, iron, trestle packages, and structural assemblies.
•    Perform bull rigging using non-crane methods: chain falls, come-alongs, jacks, rollers, and skates.
•    Conduct 8-point and 4-point lift operations per engineered lift plans.
•    Rig and guide critical picks of various load sizes and shapes.
•    Support MEB structure builds—including setting gear, beam lifts (Pear Lift / Ion Lift), and generator placement. Will do the lifting and bases, not the iron erection.
•    Assist with offloading trucks, swing lifts, and commodity handling in laydown and staging areas.
•    Participate in final alignment, unbolting, and bolt-up of modular units after placement.
Safety & Quality
•    Inspect and maintain all rigging gear prior to use (slings, shackles, spreader bars, lifting lugs, etc.).
•    Read and interpret lift plans, rigging drawings, and load charts accurately.
•    Support and attend all pre-lift meetings and safety briefings.
•    Follow site safety policies and maintain exclusion zones during lifts.
•    Operate telehandlers or forklifts as needed (certification required or obtainable).

Pay rate it up to $34/hour plus Per Diem: $100 / day for all 7 days. Schedule: Mon - Fri, overtime and weekends as required. 60h / week.

Qualifications
-Pre-employment screenings
-5+ years total in industrial rigging, modular installation, or structural construction (4+ in active rigging).

Required certifications
Certification must be active and current for at least 4 years.
-NCCER Advanced Rigger Certification or NCCCO Rigger Level II Certification
-OSHA 10 Certification
- Fall Protection and Lift Certification training are preferred.
