Trillium Staffing is now seeking a Part-Time (Up to 35 Hrs.) Lead Quality Inspector for temp-to-hire work in Charlotte, NC!

Pay rate is $30-35 per hour, based on experience. Schedule is 1st, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Flexible, up to 35 hours, dependent on candidate’s preference.

Contract-to-hire opportunity with a growing manufacturing operation. Contract term is approximately 6 months. Diamonds in the rough have an opportunity to be hired on!

The Quality Technician Team Lead oversees a team of onsite quality inspectors to ensure products meet customer expectations and quality standards. Working within production facilities and at customer locations, this role supervises inspections, verifies materials and parts against specifications, and documents findings in quality systems. The Team Lead acts as the primary onsite contact, managing workflow, enforcing safety and compliance, and ensuring consistent communication between site teams and company leadership.

Reports to the Regional Manager, Site Implementation Manager, or Corporate Operations Team (depending on project assignment).

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly oversee the onsite quality inspection team, which may include contractors and technicians.
- Ensure consistent communication between the onsite team and operations management.
- Provide training and support for quality assurance staff as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily inspection activities, ensuring adherence to work instructions, PPE use, and safety standards.
- Perform and review inspections using visual comparisons, precision measuring tools, and functional testing.
- Record inspection results accurately, summarizing compliant, repaired, and rejected parts.
- Monitor and submit daily and weekly timecards and reports for all assigned personnel.
- Establish and maintain inspection workflows and quality standards.
- Collaborate with customer representatives to review requirements and work instructions.
- Manage onsite tools, equipment, and PPE inventory.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Communicate effectively with both onsite teams and operations management.
- Support additional projects or responsibilities as assigned.
- Arrive on time and ready to begin work at the designated shift start.

Required Skills and Abilities
- Proven leadership and team coordination skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow detailed quality standards and inspection procedures.
- Sound decision-making for inspection and audit processes.
- Willingness to travel between customer sites as needed.
- Experience with measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers (preferred).
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and specifications (preferred).

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
- 2-5 years of manufacturing experience, with prior quality inspection or auditing experience strongly preferred.
