Senior Test Development Engineer

Trillium is seeking a Senior Test Development Engineer in White River Junction!

This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced mechanical engineer who possesses hands-on expertise in rotating equipment, mechanical design, and product support. The chosen candidate will play a key role in new product development, deliver service and repair solutions, and oversee field commissioning, all within a collaborative and customer-focused environment.

The Senior Test Development Engineer will be instrumental in supporting the development and testing of new rotating equipment products, taking the lead or assisting in service repairs, field commissioning, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities also include evaluating non-conformance and reviewing mechanical drawings for manufacturability and serviceability. This position uniquely combines practical manufacturing experience with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead and participate in hands-on testing and development activities for rotating equipment products
-Guide or assist with field commissioning, troubleshooting, and product repairs
-Assess mechanical drawings for manufacturability and service needs, including non-conformance evaluations
-Engage across teams, collaborating with peers in design, manufacturing, and quality functions
-Ensure exceptional customer service at every stage, including on-site support as needed

Salary is $120,000 - $130,000 annually, DOE (How skills are applicable to the job applications).

-U.S. Citizenship, as required for this client’s business
-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred)
-Over 10 years of specialized experience in mechanical design and rotating equipment
-Proficient in using SolidWorks and managing CAD data efficiently
-Skilled in engineering documentation, including BOM structures and GD&T standards
-Strong knowledge of statics, dynamics, and material strength principles
-Proven track record supporting fielded products within ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems
-Excellent communication abilities with a focus on building and maintaining customer relationships
-Willingness to travel approximately 15-20% annually, typically every few months, for on-site support
-Skilled in industry standards such as ASME, API, and aerospace specifications
-Background in computer-aided engineering tools (FEA, CFD, rotordynamics), fatigue analysis, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
-Experience in wire harness design and system component integration
-Proficient in enterprise and manufacturing resource planning systems
-Strong mechanical aptitude paired with an outstanding customer service approach
