Welder Fabricator

Trillium Construction is hiring Mig Welders/Fabricators in the Beloit, WI Area!

Work will take place 60% of the time in a shop setting, with the other 40% in the field on commercial sites. Work is fulltime, first shift, Monday - Friday, 6am - 3:30pm. 40+ hours per week. Pay is $25 - $30/hour depending on experience. 

Essential duties & Responsibilities:
1. Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers and measuring tools.
2. MIG and Arc weld steel, aluminum and stainless steel components based on specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings.
3. Operate machinery used in the production process.
4. Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
5. Anchoring into concrete using proper anchors called out and drilling to the appropriate size determined by the variety of different anchors. (Wedge, titan, epoxied) 
6. Shimming and leveling mount pads for the Column or structure to be plumb and level. 
7. Welds in all positions. (Flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead positions)
8. Selects torch, torch tip, filler ford and flux, according to welding chart specifications or type and thickness of material.
9. Tacks assemblies together before fully welding anything to ensure that the frame or assembly is double checked between measurements and squareness.
10. Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter. 
11. Cleans or de-greases parts.
12. Face shields required for any work preformed with grinders. 
13. Layout and erect steel buildings or structural steel. 
14. Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
15. Use, maintain, and inspect safety equipment and personal protective equipment prior to use.
