Diesel Mechanic

Heavy Truck Manufacturer in Macungie, PA seeking a 1st shift Diesel Mechanic - Quality Technician!

This is a temp-to-hire opportunity after 90 days!

Heavy truck manufacturer is seeking a motivated Diesel Mechanic to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This role involves hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting, and ensuring all services meet safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities
-    Will be working end of line or yard-based activity.  Will need to drive to find vehicles in the yards as needed.
-    Need to be familiar with hand tools, pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, battery operated tools. Does not need own hand tools.
-    Will be expected to perform inspections on engines as needed.
-    Will be expected to perform technical services including diagnostics, electrical work, and mechanical repairs.
-    Read and interpret repair orders to carry out general and detailed repairs on trucks, engines, and components.
-    Light duty Diesel engine work, will be conducting quality checking on the diesel engines, minor Repairs and mechanical work.
-    Communicate with service team regarding any additional repairs needed.
-    Tag and return all warranty parts properly.
-    Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
-    Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
-    Take part in special projects or tasks as assigned.

Schedule is 1st shift, 7am-4pm, Monday-Friday. OT as needed based on client needs. There is potential for weekends only if work isn't completed during the week. Pay rate is $33-35.00/ hour based on experience.

Required Qualifications
-    Master Certification is not required but needs strong understanding of Diesel engines required.
-    Drivers license.
-    Positive attitude with a strong mechanical aptitude
-    2-5 years’ experience required - Light duty Diesel engine work will be conducting quality checking on the diesel engines, minor Repairs and mechanical work.
-    Ability to use computers and diagnostic tools.
