Carpenter Helper

Now hiring Carpenter Helpers and Apprentice Construction Laborers in the Dubuque, IA area. 

 This role involves assisting with demolition, material handling, and basic carpentry tasks on active construction sites. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety-focused, and eager to learn while supporting skilled carpenters and crew members.

Position Details:
·         Pay: $22–$24 per hour
·         Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
·         Duration: Temp-to-perm opportunity or 6 months to 1 year project

Key Responsibilities:
·         Assist with demolition work, including removing and disposing of ceiling tiles, drywall, and other materials.
·         Sort and organize materials, including separating metal for recycling and saving reusable ceiling tiles.
·         Build and install temporary walls as directed.
·         Safely use hand tools, power tools, and equipment under supervision.
·         Work from ladders, scaffolding, and manlifts while following all safety procedures.
·         Maintain a clean and organized work area, disposing of waste materials properly.
·         Support carpenters and crew members with general construction tasks as needed.

Requirements:
·         At least 6 months to 1 year of previous construction or labor experience required.
·         Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods.
·         Comfortable working at heights on ladders and manlifts.
·         Basic knowledge of hand tools and willingness to learn carpentry skills.
·         Strong attention to safety practices and willingness to follow instructions.
·         Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:
·         OSHA 10 or other safety certifications (a plus, not required).
·         Previous experience assisting carpenters or in demolition work.
