Assistant Superintendent

Trillium Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for a direct hire opportunity with a mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and plumbing services.

This company provides installation, maintenance, and repair for commercial, government, and industrial clients, along with preconstruction, BIM/VDC, and commissioning support. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and lasting client partnerships, they are an industry leader.

Pay rate is $37 – $45 per hour (based on experience). Open to experienced Foremen ready to step into a leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support 4–6 foremen and their crews, ensuring productivity and quality.
-Monitor field labor performance, project needs, and material coordination.
-Provide “hands-on” assistance on-site, including equipment setting (boilers, chillers, pumps, fans, air handling devices).
-Assist mechanics with work sequencing, troubleshooting, and service calls as needed.
-Mentor and train foremen and field staff both on-site and in classroom settings.
-Manage tools, rental equipment, vehicles, and subcontractor performance.
-Work closely with senior superintendents to ensure schedules, safety, and quality standards are met.
-Enforce company safety policies, including toolbox talks and inspections.

Qualifications:
-1–2 years of related supervisory or construction experience.
-Strong background in HVAC and/or plumbing field operations.
-Ability to read and interpret documents, drawings, and instructions.
-Effective problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
-Willingness to work hands-on with crews in the field.
-Welding knowledge a plus.
