Field Superintendent

Trillium Construction is seeking a Field Superintendent for a direct hire opportunity with a mechanical contractor specializing in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) and plumbing services.

The company provides installation, maintenance, and repair for commercial, government, and industrial clients, along with preconstruction, BIM/VDC, and commissioning support. Their commitment to safety, quality, and client relationships makes them a trusted leader in the industry.

Salary is $100,000 – $130,000 (based on experience).

Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise and mentor Assistant Field Superintendents and oversee large field crews.
-Study drawings and specifications to plan project procedures, staffing, and schedules.
-Ensure adequate field workforce and monitor labor productivity to meet job cost budgets.
-Coordinate with project managers, fabrication shops, and subcontractors to keep projects on track.
-Provide hands-on assistance in the field, including setting critical equipment such as boilers, chillers, pumps, and air handling units.
-Oversee training and development of field supervisors and crews.
-Manage tools, rental equipment, and company fleet resources.
-Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections, ensuring timely completion of punch lists.
-Enforce safety policies and oversee site safety programs, toolbox talks, and inspections.
-Review and approve field timesheets, conduct evaluations, and recommend pay adjustments.
-Maintain strong communication and collaboration with project managers, operations, and BIM teams to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

Qualifications:
-Associate degree or technical school training preferred, or equivalent experience.
-Experience supervising field staff in mechanical/HVAC and plumbing construction projects.
-Ability to manage multiple projects and large field crews.
-Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
-Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
-Solid understanding of labor management, scheduling, safety, and QA/QC practices.
