Chief Estimator

Trillium Construction is hiring for a Chief Estimator for our client, a leading general construction firm committed to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, to join their Federal Government Division and support their continued growth and success.

Position Overview
As a Construction Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for federal construction projects. You will collaborate closely with owners, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure precise budget planning and cost analysis. Your work will directly influence project decisions and help maintain profitability across our portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Analyze design documents, specifications, and project documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates
-Collaborate with owners, clients, architects, and engineers to understand project scope and requirements
-Obtain and evaluate material and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing
-Prepare comprehensive project budgets, cost breakdowns, and timelines
-Conduct risk assessments and propose value engineering solutions
-Maintain and update cost databases and estimating software
-Present estimates to management and clients, clearly explaining cost drivers and assumptions

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
-Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably on Federal Government construction projects
-Proficient with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, Onscreen Takeoff, and Bluebeam; strong understanding of RS Means
-Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
-Strong communication and negotiation abilities
-Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations
-Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Additional Requirements
