Trillium has an immediate opening for a Plant Manager in Clare!
 
This Direct-Hire opportunity seeks an experienced individual to oversee and direct all manufacturing operations at the Clare facility. This includes production, maintenance, quality assurance, safety, logistics, and personnel management. The Plant Manager ensures efficient, cost-effective, and timely production while upholding standards of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The role is accountable for meeting operational goals in alignment with company strategies and customer requirements.

The Plant Manager directly supervises department supervisors, production leads, and key support staff and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the manufacturing team.

Responsibilities:
-Oversee plant operations and support areas to deliver on daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
-Maintain adherence to production timelines, product quality requirements, and cost targets.
-Create and implement operational plans that support the company’s growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction objectives.
-Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace safety rules, and environmental standards.
-Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean tools, 5S practices, Six Sigma methods, and root cause problem-solving.
-Manage equipment maintenance programs, facility upgrades, and capital investment projects.
-Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Sales to enable new product launches and adjust for capacity needs.
-Monitor plant KPI metrics (OEE, productivity, scrap, and labor utilization) and take corrective steps when necessary.
-Prepare and control the plant’s operating budget, including costs for labor, materials, and investments.
-Recruit, coach, and mentor staff while encouraging accountability, collaboration, and career development.

Work Environment:
-Primary work setting is a manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to machinery, noise, and other industrial conditions.
-May encounter varying temperatures depending on seasonal and facility conditions.
-Job requires frequent walking, standing, climbing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
-Some travel to vendors, suppliers, or additional company facilities may be required.

Schedule is first Shift / Monday through Friday. Pay rate is $125,000 – $150,000 annually, depending on experience.

Qualifications:
-Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, workflows, and production planning methods.
-Skilled in Lean manufacturing, 5S workplace organization, Six Sigma tools, or other improvement disciplines.
-Hands-on experience with ERP systems, scheduling tools, and cost management practices.
-Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and quality standards.
-Exceptional leadership skills with strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
-Proven expertise in managing cross-functional teams and leading organizational change.
-Advanced problem-solving and sound decision-making ability.

Education/Experience Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related discipline required.
-At least 7–10 years of experience in manufacturing, with 3–5 years in a plant leadership capacity.
-Background in tooling, precision machining, or metalworking manufacturing is highly valued.
