Process Engineer
Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity for a Process Engineer in Coldwater, OH. The client offers relocation assistance.
Job Responsibilities:
-Oversee and optimize daily operations across extrusion, printing, orientation, converting, and packaging processes.
-Monitor production metrics (OEE, downtime, yield, scrap) to identify trends, root causes, and implement corrective actions.
-Develop and implement process control strategies and SOPs to ensure consistency and reliability.
-Collaborate with operations, maintenance and quality to support new product development, material trials, and equipment upgrades.
-Provide on-floor technical support during startups, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
-Design and maintain structured training programs for operators and technicians on process theory, machine operation, troubleshooting, safety, and quality.
-Conduct regular training refreshers and hands-on coaching to drive process adherence.
-Promote knowledge sharing and act as a technical mentor across teams.
-Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis.
-Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standards via audits, documentation, and engineering controls.
-Understand and follow all safety procedures/policies.

Job Requirements:
-Deep knowledge of resins (PE, PA, EVOH) and web handling principles.
-Experience with printing and converting operations
-Familiarity with advanced process controls and SPC techniques.
-Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
-Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and PLC knowledge is a plus.
-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
-Strong leadership, communication, and training skills.
-Proven track record of implementing Lean or Six Sigma projects in manufacturing.
-Excellent Attendance and Punctuality.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
-5+ years of experience in a plastics manufacturing environment, preferably in blown film extrusion, printing, or converting.
-Experience working in ISO, SQF, or other certified environments.
-Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Maintenance Management Systems.
-Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
-Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
