HVAC Assembly Technician

Trillium Professional has a direct hire opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for an HVAC Assembly Technician.

As an HVAC Assembler in the defense industry, you will be responsible for assembling and installing HVAC systems and components that must meet the specific, demanding requirements of military and defense applications. You will work with advanced technology in highly regulated environments, ensuring systems are both functional and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assemble, install, and test HVAC systems for military or defense-related applications, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating units.
-Perform system diagnostics and troubleshoot HVAC issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
-Work with other team members to complete projects within stringent timelines and maintain quality standards.
-Ensure that all HVAC systems meet compliance regulations such as EPA 608 for refrigerant handling and other environmental standards.
-Perform routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure ongoing performance and compliance with military specifications.
-Utilize welding techniques (AWS B2.2/B2.2M) for the assembly of HVAC components and structural support.
-Maintain accurate records of all assembly, testing, and maintenance work performed.

Required Qualifications:
-High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
-Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC assembly or installation, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry.
-EPA 608 Certification required (for refrigerant handling).
-AWS B2.2/B2.2M welding certification preferred.
-Ability to interpret HVAC diagrams and blueprints, and to work with complex mechanical systems.
-Knowledge of military or defense standards related to HVAC systems.
-Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
-OSHA 10/30 Certification preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working on military or aerospace HVAC systems.
-NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification is a plus.
-Previous experience working with high-reliability and mission-critical HVAC systems.
